چکیده

The growth of the construction industry has expanded demand for ceramic building products such as tiles, which constitute essential materials. Nonetheless, a huge quantity waste powder is produced during polishing tiles. disposal key environmental concern that needs to be properly addressed. purpose this research evaluate potential recycling geopolymer binder. main objective consists exploring impacts two types (vitrified tiles and wall tiles) on partial substitution fly ash in concrete. For this, concrete was prepared under ambient conditions without oven curing. Slump, compressive strength, split tensile modulus elasticity tests were performed measure workability mechanical properties Its durability evaluated through water absorption sorptivity tests. microstructural behavior investigated using scanning electron microscopy X-ray diffraction measurements. investigation revealed 15% replacement by wall-tile gave similar 3% increase 7% improvement elasticity. Partial with vitrified reduced improved microstructure findings can used replace 10–15% M35 grade structural concrete, cured conditions. Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2022-08-07-05 Full Text: PDF

ALKALI Activated FLY-ASH Based Geopolymer Concrete

Considering the increasing demand for developing alternative construction materials, due to the growing environmental concerns, this paper discusses the feasibility of alkali activated geo-polymer concrete, as a future construction material. The main objective of this study involves observation of structural behaviours of the fresh fly ash-based geo-polymer concrete, understanding the basic mix...

Effect of Glass Powder and GGBS on Strength of Fly Ash Based Geopolymer Concrete

In this study, the effect of glass powder (GP) and ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) on the compressive strength of Fly ash based geopolymer concrete has been investigated. The mass ratio of fine aggregate (fA) to coarse aggregate (CA) was maintained constant. NaOH flakes dissolved in water was used as activating liquid and mixed with fly ash (FA) to produce geopolymer paste or cement...

Fly Ash-based Geopolymer Lightweight Concrete Using Foaming Agent

In this paper, we report the results of our investigation on the possibility of producing foam concrete by using a geopolymer system. Class C fly ash was mixed with an alkaline activator solution (a mixture of sodium silicate and NaOH), and foam was added to the geopolymeric mixture to produce lightweight concrete. The NaOH solution was prepared by dilute NaOH pellets with distilled water. The ...

Utilisation of two-stage waste incinerator bottom ash as a cement substitute in concrete

Waste incineration still seems to be an essential technology in the concept of integrated waste management. However, the desirable quantity of waste incineration residue needs to be as low as possible. Therefore, related optimization of two-stage waste incineration technology has been performed with the main goal of producing lower amounts of boiler ash, fly ash and flue gas-treatment residue, ...

Mechanical Behaviour of Geopolymer Concrete under Ambient Curing

Utilisation of fly ash and Ground Granulated Blast Slag as an alternative material in concrete reduces the use of OPC in concrete. Evolution of geopolymer concrete cured at ambient temperature broadens its suitability and applicability to concrete based structures. This paper presents the mix proportions and outcome of an experimental study on the density and compressive strength of geopolymer ...
